Heyo! This week went by pretty fast, there was a few highlights that we had though. On Thursday evening we had about 30 minutes before dinner so we were going to knock doors but felt a prompting to visit someone who use to investigate the church.
We saw her about a month ago but nothing was coming from it so we stopping going by but Thursday evening we felt prompted to stop by. When we showed up at her house she lit up like a light and was excited to see us. When we sat down and talked she expressed a lot of things that were going on and told us that it was perfect timing that we showed back up into her life.
She had been praying for help and didn’t know where to go. Her world felt like it was slowly crumbling, we testified of Gods love for her and his great and eternal plan for all of his children. She wanted us to come back the next day. We left her to read Alma 40 off of pure prompting, Alma 40 talks about the spirit world and life after death.
Well come to find out that night she had lost a friend. When we came back to talk to her the next day she told us that the scriptures gave her a lot of peace and comfort knowing where her friend was.
We’ve had quite a few experiences this week of following promptings that have led to something great. During my studies I came across 1 Nephi 4:6 which reads: “And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.” Sometimes it takes courage to be led by the Spirit.
There will be times when the world’s logic and reasoning will suggest a course of action that is contrary to the Lord’s teaching. Elder John H. Groberg of the Seventy said: “Be willing to take reasonable risks.
We live in an age of reason, logic, facts, and figures. These can be useful if kept in subjection to faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. But if they ever take precedence over faith in Him, then they are not useful and can be very harmful.
I have found in my life that most of the good decisions I have made may not have been made if they were based solely on logic or reason. …”
This week I would encourage everyone to listen to and follow the promptings of the Spirit and witness God’s plan first hand and He will use you to help others. I hope everyone has a great week, I love you!
