Well it’s official, I’m a year out! The night before I hit my year mark we started an exchange with Elder Rippstein and Elder Porter so we were together to remember that a year ago this last week we entered the MTC.
Time has flown by let me tell you, I never thought I’d be in Winder Georgia a year ago. Since I’ve been out I have gained a greater appreciation for Heavenly Father’s love for his children. Being out and seeing the world in a new perspective changes things, it’s changed the way I look at others and the way I look at God’s plan for us. That’s one thing I’ve grown a huge testimony of, as well as the Book of Mormon.
A year ago when I entered the MTC I never read the Book of Mormon cover to cover, and it was a leap of faith trusting that everything would be okay. But as time passed I yearned for answers, and I received them. Some weren’t immediately but they came and they strengthened me.
Every trial I faced and will face was God’s way of reaching out with love, letting me grow for myself and learn new things. This entire week was kind of a slap in the face for me that it’s been a year, but we can only do so much with what we are given. I’m grateful for the love and support each of you share.
A lot of this past week consisted of getting to know the new members and knocking doors. We had a few instances where people cussed us out because we crossed the street when there was a crossing sign but patience is a virtue. I’ve noticed that my tolerance for people has increased haha.
Memorial Day we tried contacting people at a festival but it rained that evening so not many people showed up, but we talked to some carnies which wasn’t the best idea. They wanted us to win prizes for our multiple wives… we get that a lot. But everything else was all good!
We had a great week but nothing to exciting! I hope everyone takes care! I love you!
