So I’ll start off with explaining the title; on Friday morning during our studies we heard a noise coming from the kitchen like a mouse eating. That’s the last thing we needed was a mouse problem.
Now I don’t know if putting cheese down on a mouse trap is a myth but we didn’t have a brick of cheese to waste. So we used peanut butter instead. Elder Merritt said he used to catch squirrels using peanut butter; we had nothing to lose. We found a mouse trap laying around the house and set it up then left.
When we came back that night the peanut butter was gone and the trap was still set… this little dude was either really smart, super tiny, or strong enough to reset the trap and take the peanut butter and run. Either way he was still alive, so we tried again, this time I set up a camera to catch him in the act.
When we woke up the next morning the peanut butter was still there, so I stopped the camera. When we came back downstairs after getting ready the peanut butter was gone. It’s almost like he was taunting us! So last night we tried again, this time I wasn’t playing games. Long story short, I killed a mouse.
Let’s see, this whole week was knocking doors. We had a few interesting experiences. One lady told us we were going to die and burn in Hell because we were Mormon which was an interesting theory. On a brighter note we helped re-flatten an above ground pool which was something I’ve never done before so that was fun!
Yesterday we were knocking doors and we met this one kid who never grew up in a church but really had a desire to know God, he had never studied religion or anything. As we taught him the restoration he showed more interest; it started making sense to him.
When we finished he shook our hands and thanked us for knocking on his door because it helped him understand more about God. And that was a highlight for this week. The message we share is meant to help those who are seeking a better understanding of God’s love for us.
It’s because He loves us that He called another prophet and restored Christ’s organization and the authority on the Earth today. It’s a wonderful day to be alive where we get to experience the blessings of having the restored gospel daily.
I hope each of you have a great week! I love you!
